As the tide of globalization surges, the preservation of indigenous cultures around the world has moved beyond non-mainstream dialogues to assume an increasingly important place in mainstream society. Governments are adjusting national poliices to "save culture", "protect intangible assets", and "preserve cultural heritage". Similary, in Taiwan witness the promotion of "tribal enterprise" and "cultural creative industry" in political, economic, cultural and education planning, which is highly anticipated to invigorate Taiwan and provide ground for real growth.
"Earth Message - A Celebration of Taiwan's Indigenous Asthetics", focusing on the ecological wisdom and naturalism of Taiwan's indigenous peoples, will demonstrate the vitality of indigenous art through legends, dance, song, faux fur creations and innovative indigenous clothing design. The event will also show that the indigenous peoples' deep connection with the Earth has never disappeared, opening up Taiwan's beautiful wings and letting us remember the steps of our ancestors and their beautiful original nature.
The enterprisation of culture and the culturalization of enterprise is an important policy direction for Taiwan's government, and great hope has been placed in the development of indigenous creative cultural industries. However, because of cultural gaps and differences in logical approaches, development in these areas has been limited. How to transform society's rich resources into cultural enterprises and speed up the momentum of its development a plaform for appreciation is what needs to be built. "Earth Message - A Celebration of Taiwan's Indigenous Asthetics" brings together an abundant collection of beautiful creations from Taiwan's indigenous tribes by way of static exhibitions and dynamic shows, thus laying a foundation for the "Culturalization of Taiwan" and opening up a diverse channel for its creations, and giving Taiwan a bright new beautiful image.
