賽夏族過去因為與神話中的矮黑人有結怨因此舉行巴斯達隘祭典，在祭典中常見以下二樣祭祀的聖物：
◎舞帽（月光旗）kirakil：祭典期間各姓氏主祭會製作舞帽，舞帽上會縫製裝飾品以及代表之姓氏，在祭典時由各姓氏男子巡行在舞隊前端或是兩側。南群舞帽呈現到三角扁平型，北群則呈現半弧形，以單肩支撐，利用身體律動來晃動舞帽。
◎臀鈴Tabaa’sang：家家戶戶都擁有一個臀鈴，形狀不限，但多以三角形或是半橢圓形的背版為主，近年才有其他的形狀出現。在背版的下方會縫上現代感的垂珠及竹管、鋼管、牛鈴等裝飾品。隨著祭典歌謠的旋律擺動，鈴鐺、竹管敲擊在臀部會發出響亮的聲音，臀鈴也因為在祭典時的特殊角色因此而得名。
祭典開始前賽夏族人會在祭屋集合，在接近月亮升起的時間，由主祭者起音族人們雙手牽成舞隊，緩緩的往祭場中以右腳前左腳後的步伐移動，舞隊會隨著祭歌而改變，有時會急速往場中心繞圓成漩渦型，再急速回到半圓的舞隊型態。
