太魯閣族服飾具有濃厚的表現創意，並由不同的圖紋來表示民族的特徵，在織物的款式、形制、色澤、紋路及質地上，都隱含著這個民族特出的風格。太魯閣族是運用服裝上的表現，千絲萬縷的組合出他們的圖騰信仰，和他們紋面的習俗也有關聯。
太魯閣族的男女服飾：
太魯閣族傳統服裝的形制式綜合了縫製式及披掛式服裝的形式，傳統服裝分為日常服與工作服、禮服等。
日常服：太魯閣族人平日休閒在家時的穿著，大部分是素色麻布衣。主要達到保暖遮身就可以了。
工作服：太魯閣族人耕作時的穿著，質料比較粗造，以方面活動為主。
禮服：太魯閣族人祭典時的穿著，就比較慎重了，因此人人幾乎都有一套屬於在祭典穿著的傳統服飾，在服裝上施以華麗圖紋，以紅、黑、白三色為主，織出美麗幾何紋樣。在祭典重要日子盛裝時搭配五花八門的裝飾品，非常好看。早期運用貝豬、貝板、骨、竹、薏米珠等各類飾品，較晚期興起貿易傳入，以物易物交易來的鈕釦、塑膠豬、亮片、毛線等材料所製的各種裝飾品，包括帽、頭飾、耳飾、頸飾、腕飾、臂飾、腰帶與腳飾等，在祭典時全部出籠，因此祭典也是部落人以傳統服飾互相比美的日子。
