聖所「庫巴」對鄒族而言有著相當的重要性，它是男子之訓練與教育場所、是部落安定之保障、是部落之守衛中心、是部落之永續象徵、是部落之活動中心、是部落解決紛爭之場所、是部落之祭儀信仰中心、是部落之政治中心、是戰爭與出草的指揮所、也是戰鬥與戰爭的象徵。
在鄒族的視覺圖像的表達上，雖部落排灣族和魯凱族有清晰的以神話傳承而建構的視覺圖騰，但現今的儀式中，聖所「庫巴」的意義，幾乎可以算是鄒族的精神圖騰。
