2006年2月14日「台灣原住民文化產業發展協會」邀集了全國不同區域的原住民產業線上經營者代表人，籌組一個能在原住民文化資源範疇裡，足見建構原住民價值觀、財產觀、藝術觀、教育觀…從各民族自己的文化底蘊出發的之事菁英和行動團體。
籌組這個協會的目的是服務部落正在蒙發的創新產業，像是民宿、美食、服飾、手工藝、高山生態、旅遊導覽…等，部落工作者有一些期待。我們將發展結合產官學與企業界與年青人創業的育成，提生產值的教育訓練有自我互助的平台。專業技術是中性的，觀點才是關鍵，因此成員是原住民80％，主流漢人專業人士20％。
台灣原住民有許多美好的元素，可以服務台灣，甚至可以為台灣進入世界的舞台貢獻力量，原住民需要一雙翅膀，飛越樓頂遨翔在更高的地方來看自己，這個協會成為一雙有力的翅膀，帶著臉譜性的產業到世界的重要角落，來刻畫台灣。
